Dandy-Walker Syndrome (DWS) is a rare congenital brain malformation involving the cerebellum and the fourth ventricle. It can cause a variety of physical and cognitive challenges, and the severity can vary widely from individual to individual. Some common features of Dandy-Walker Syndrome include:
Enlarged ventricles in the brain (hydrocephalus).
Cerebellar hypoplasia, or underdevelopment of the cerebellum, which affects coordination and balance.
Developmental delays and cognitive impairments.
Motor issues, such as difficulty with walking or muscle control.
Speech and language delays.
Seizures or other neurological symptoms.
