🧒 What Is PITS (Post Intervention Therapy Services) Funding?

Post Intervention Therapy Services (PITS) is a short-term, intensive therapy funding program provided by Perth Children’s Hospital. It supports children who have recently undergone a significant medical, surgical or therapeutic intervention and require additional support in the community following discharge.

PITS funding enables families to access private allied health services outside the hospital to ensure continuity of care, faster recovery, and improved outcomes.

Who Is Eligible?

Children may be eligible for PITS funding if they:

• Have received recent inpatient or outpatient care from Perth Children’s Hospital or CAHS

• Require short-term, intensive therapy post-discharge

• Have complex needs or functional impairments that need follow-up intervention

• Are not yet on an NDIS plan or awaiting other funding approvals

How to Access PITS-Funded Therapy With Us

To access therapy at Palms Allied Health using PITS funding, please:

1. Send us a copy of your child’s Discharge Summary from Perth Children’s Hospital or CAHS

2. Provide the contact details for your PITS Coordinator (this may be your hospital therapist, nurse, social worker, or coordinator)

3. We will liaise directly with the PITS team to confirm funding coverage and service authorisation

4. Once approved, we will begin therapy sessions tailored to your child’s needs
