PALMS PHYSIOTHERAPY & ALLIED HEALTH
Telehealth physiotherapy is a convenient way to access physiotherapy support via secure video consults—ideal when you can’t attend the clinic, prefer to be seen from home, or want guidance between in-person appointments.Â
At Palms Physiotherapy & Allied Health, our online physio sessions focus on assessment, education, exercise prescription, movement coaching and rehab planning tailored to your goals.
Telehealth physiotherapy is a physiotherapy appointment delivered via video call. Your physio can assess your symptoms, observe movement, guide you through tests and exercises, and build a structured plan you can follow at home.
Telehealth can be used:
as a first appointment (for suitable presentations)
as a follow-up to progress rehab
for check-ins, pacing, and technique coaching
when travel, time, fatigue, pain, or distance make clinic visits difficult
Telehealth physiotherapy is often well-suited to conditions where assessment and rehab can be guided visually and progressed with home-based strategies, such as:
back and neck pain
shoulder, hip, knee and ankle pain
tendon pain and overuse injuries
post-operative rehab guidance (where appropriate and with surgeon/medical guidance)
chronic pain and flare-up planning
dizziness/vestibular screening and exercise guidance (case-by-case)
return-to-exercise and strength conditioning plans
workplace/home ergonomics and activity modification
If telehealth isn’t appropriate for your presentation, we’ll tell you and recommend the next best option.
We support children, adults and older adults with disability, injury, chronic conditions, developmental concerns, communication needs, mobility challenges and rehabilitation goals.
Depending on your goals, sessions may include:
symptom history and goal setting
movement and functional assessment (via guided tasks)
education about pain, recovery and load management
tailored exercise programs with technique coaching
pacing and flare-up strategies
equipment advice (simple home setup options)
return-to-work / return-to-sport planning (where relevant)
progress review and program updates
Some presentations may require hands-on assessment, specific testing, or equipment-based treatment. Examples include:
sudden severe symptoms or red flags (urgent medical review may be needed)
acute trauma where imaging/urgent assessment is required
complex neurological signs
situations where manual therapy or in-person examination is essential
If you’re unsure, book a telehealth session and we’ll advise the safest pathway.
