PALMS PHYSIOTHERAPY & ALLIED HEALTH
Want the freedom of working for yourself, without having to build everything from scratch?
At Palms Physiotherapy & Allied Health, we offer flexible subcontracting and employment opportunities for allied health clinicians who want autonomy, a supportive team, strong referral demand and access to purpose-built therapy spaces.
Whether you are an experienced Occupational Therapist, Speech Pathologist, Physiotherapist, Exercise Physiologist or Therapy Assistant, we are open to conversations about what work could look like for you.
You bring your clinical skills.
We provide the space, referrals, admin support, systems and multidisciplinary environment.
We support bookings, referrals, billing, service agreements, client communication and day-to-day clinic admin so clinicians can focus more on therapy.
We use templates, systems and technology where possible to reduce unnecessary admin and make clinical life easier.
School hours, part-time, subcontracting, bigger caseloads, smaller caseloads, clinic-based, mobile or mixed work — we are open to talking about what works for your life and our clients.
We trust experienced clinicians to work independently without KPI breathing. You still have admin support, systems, referrals and a multidisciplinary team around you.
We offer competitive employee pay and flexible subcontracting options with strong earning potential for clinicians who want more control over their income.
We are a warm multidisciplinary team that shares ideas, solves problems and tries to make work feel human. Not corporate. Not perfect. Very much real.
Depending on your role, this may include mentoring, supervision, peer support, in-services, case discussion and support to grow your clinical interests.
We value kindness, honesty, humour, direct communication and being able to ask for help without feeling like you have failed.
Palms is owned and run by real people who are in the clinic, know the team, understand the chaos, and care about creating a workplace that actually feels good to be part of.
Our Malaga clinic includes private therapy rooms, a rehab gym, kids therapy gym, sensory room and Reformer Pilates studio.
We aim to create a clinic where different brains, communication styles and strengths are respected — for both clients and team members.
We have a steady flow of enquiries and growing waitlists across several disciplines, so the right clinicians can often build a caseload without starting from scratch.
Palms is a family-run multidisciplinary allied health clinic with locations in Malaga and Noranda.
We support children, adults and older adults across disability, rehabilitation, chronic conditions, paediatrics, neurological presentations, mobility, communication, sensory needs, functional goals and community participation.
We are not a corporate therapy machine. We are a growing, people-focused clinic with a strong emphasis on flexibility, practical therapy, relationship-based care and clinician autonomy.
Our team includes Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech Pathologists, Exercise Physiologists, Therapy Assistants and admin staff working across clinic-based, home-based, school-based and community services.
At Palms, we want clinicians to feel supported, trusted and able to do meaningful work without burning themselves out.
Our Malaga facility is a purpose-built allied health hub with dedicated therapy spaces including a rehabilitation gym, private treatment rooms, Pilates studio, Sensory room & a Paediatric therapy gym.
Our Noranda clinic is a welcoming therapy space with private treatment rooms, a well-equipped studio gym area for rehabilitation/strengthening, and specialised therapeutic equipment for Physiotherapyities.
Subcontracting can be a great option for clinicians who want more autonomy, more flexibility and fewer people breathing down their neck about KPIs.
If you are an experienced clinician, you probably do not need someone hovering over you with a spreadsheet and a concerned facial expression.
You need good systems, appropriate referrals, clear communication, a supportive team and the freedom to do your job well.
At Palms, subcontracting arrangements are discussed individually. Depending on your discipline, experience, availability and the needs of the service, you may have flexibility around your available days, preferred hours, caseload size, clinical interests and the type of work you choose to accept.
Want school holidays off with your kids? Let’s talk about how that could work.
Want school hours? Very relatable.
Want to build a full caseload and maximise earning potential? Great.
Want one or two flexible days while keeping work from eating your entire life? Also great.
Subcontracting is not a one-size-fits-all role. It is a conversation.
It is different from employment. Subcontractors are responsible for their own tax, leave, insurance, registration, professional development and business expenses. You also need to be organised, professional and able to manage your clinical responsibilities independently.
But for the right clinician, it can offer a strong balance: more autonomy, more flexibility and more control over your earning capacity, with the support of Palms’ rooms, referrals, admin systems, billing support, therapy spaces and multidisciplinary team environment.
If you are an experienced allied health clinician, subcontracting at Palms may give you the flexibility and earning potential you are looking for.
You can work with more control over your days, caseload and clinical interests, while still having the benefit of an established clinic, admin support, referrals, therapy spaces and a multidisciplinary team around you.
No starting from scratch.
No leasing your own rooms.
No building a website.
No managing every intake enquiry yourself.
No doing it completely alone.
Just flexible, meaningful clinical work with room to grow.
Depending on the role and arrangement, Palms may provide:
clinic rooms
rehabilitation gym access
kids therapy gym access
sensory room access
Reformer Pilates studio access
admin support
intake and referral support
booking support
service agreement support
billing systems
multidisciplinary team connection
established referral pathways
marketing and website presence
opportunities for clinic, mobile, school and community-based work
You bring your clinical skills, professional judgement, availability and preferred way of working.
We are open to different working arrangements depending on the role, clinician experience, client needs and current clinic capacity.
More structure
Paid leave entitlements
Regular hours
Closer mentoring and supervision
A more predictable income
Support while building confidence as an early-career clinician
A clearer employee framework around expectations and leave
We are happy to talk through what arrangement may suit your experience, goals and stage of life.
Greater autonomy
Higher earning potential
Flexibility around days and hours
Control over your preferred caseload
The ability to shape your clinical interests
To work independently while still having a team around you
To build your own clinical identity within an established clinic
To avoid the traditional KPI-heavy employee model
To have more control over holidays, school hours and life outside work
You may be a good fit for Palms if you are:
warm, practical and client-centred
comfortable working independently
able to communicate clearly with clients, families and referrers
organised with documentation and professional responsibilities
interested in flexible or mixed caseload work
happy to work as part of a team without needing to be micromanaged
motivated to build a sustainable caseload
looking for a workplace where you are trusted and respected
Able to balance autonomy with professional accountability
Palms is a good fit for clinicians who care about quality therapy, but also want a life outside of work.
Our Malaga clinic includes private therapy rooms, a rehabilitation gym, kids therapy gym, sensory room and Reformer Pilates studio.
Depending on your role, you may also work in homes, schools, aged care settings, hydrotherapy pools or community environments.
This gives clinicians the ability to provide therapy that is practical, functional and engaging.
Ready for a change?
If you are an experienced clinician looking for more flexibility, a mixed caseload, a supportive team or a workplace that feels more personal, we would love to hear from you.
Senior clinicians may have opportunities to contribute to mentoring, service development, complex caseloads, student support, clinical systems, program development or leadership pathways.
Subcontracting may be especially attractive if you are already confident managing a caseload independently and want more control over your work life.
Starting your allied health career?
We love supporting early-career clinicians who are kind, motivated and willing to learn.
At Palms, early-career clinicians are supported to build confidence gradually. You will not be expected to know everything on day one.
Depending on current team capacity, we may be able to support new graduates or early-career clinicians in Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology or Exercise Physiology.
For early-career clinicians, employment may sometimes be more appropriate than subcontracting, particularly where closer supervision, structure and mentoring are needed.
We are happy to discuss what kind of role would be safest and most supportive for your stage of practice.
